In China, students value their education and are prepared to give up a great deal of their own time to improve their language abilities. Motivating students to learn is something that teachers do not have to worry about and as a result, students are a pleasure to teach.

The students at Yuexiu are grouped according to the course they are following and into year-groups as would be found in other countries. Also, you can expect to find a range of abilities in each class. Class sizes vary and can be as low as 25 with some Oral language classes reaching 35 students.

The faculty you are in will provide textbooks to guide you through the work of the semester but you will be expected to prepare any additional materials needed to teach effectively. Also, there will be co-teachers and group-leaders to support you in settling into your teaching here.

Every teacher will need to prepare exams for their students towards the end of the semester so that they can be awarded grades that accurately reflect their ability and improvement in whichever language they have chosen to study.

Apart from face-to face teaching, current teachers also devoted a lot on different areas; creating textbooks, proof reading for school newspaper, website, Meanwhile, they support the work of the university in other ways like: English Salons, competition work and other activities which help to enrich the learning of languages here. Teachers’ input is always appreciated.
